It was Sunday and we felt like having brunch closer to nature. Decided to check out Verdure which is next to Springleaf Park 🙂
There were plenty of outdoor seatings (pets allowed), but we opted for the smaller indoor space because it was so hot today!
At just before 10am, with only 2 other customers, we were disappointed to know that 2 of the 3 chef’s recommendations for weekend brunch was not available.
We decided to just share a Big Breakfast ($16.90 nett). For drinks, we ordered Latte ($4.90) and a hot Honey Apple Cider Vinegar ($4.90).
The best part of the Big Breakfast was the sausage, which was smokey, cheesy, and flavourful. The salad was quite fresh, but we would have preferred the thousand island sauce to be served by the side. The ham was sliced too thinly and a tad overcooked, giving it an almost-like bak kwa feel. We were a bit shocked by the appearance of the scrambled eggs when our Big Breakfast arrived, haha. Abit like the failed ones that I make at home 😛 Tasted the same too 😛 The toast was wholemeal and white, similar to those generic brands that one can get from supermarkets. The worst was the extremely salty mushrooms.
Drinks-wise, the latte was more on the bitter side, but still not bad. The Honey Apple Cider Vinegar had quite a good balance of sweet and sour, and I quite enjoyed it.
Overall, we had an enjoyable time with the beautiful view, the free WiFi, and each other’s company 🙂
