After a satisfying coffee, we continue to walk along Elizabeth Street in the direction of Queen Victoria Market in search of yummy breakfast on Google. That’s when we stumbled upon this description Artisanal donuts and organic coffee in a snug space with chic, minimalist decor, plus takeaway. How can we not be moved by such a description?
And so we strolled into the small Sutherland Street and found this quaint little cafe with only 2 small tables inside, and many customers standing outside sipping hot coffee and munching on deliciously-looking donuts! Kinda reminded us of Ah Zong Mee Sua (阿宗麵線) in Ximending, Taipei.

On display on the shelf were rows and rows of colourfully-glazed donuts that were just inviting everyone to take a bite. Due to the small size of the cafe, most people were just queuing up for takeaways.
We were not too much into sweet stuff and so we ordered just one Australian Honey & Sea Salt Donut to try. This was crisp on the outside, but light and airy inside, and was dipped in a simple glaze made of local honey and organic milk, and then topped with fine flakes of salt, making it looked like a round churro.
The honey and salt gave the otherwise bland donut a very contrasting yet balanced flavour as you bite into it. The lightness of the dough would not give a jelak feeling and it’s best to pair this with a hot cup of coffee! What a great start to a great Sunday ahead!
