Simple indulgence

After a lovely porridge dinner nearby, we decided to walk around to look for places to cure Hubby’s caffeine fix.

Chanced upon The Alley Cafe on Keong Saik Road. We wanted pancakes but it was not available, so we ended up ordering the last slice of cake at the counter.

The Flat White ($5) was alright and the Earl Grey Cake ($7.90) had a slight tea flavour that was overpowered by the sweetness…

Not too satisfying for an after-meal, but at least the service was quite good, as the serving staff were all smiles and very quick to replenish our water without us having to ask 🙂

We finally made it here after seeing so many of it all splashed over social media!

It was relatively quiet on a weekday late afternoon, and we had the whole sofa to ourselves. We enjoyed a Flat White ($5), a Blueberry Yogurt Tart ($6), and a Elderflower Soda ($4.90).

The flat white was not bad, but La Ristrettos Coffee Boutique and Yahava KoffeeWorks were still better. I didn’t really like the tart because I had bitten on 2 really hard bits (of fruit I think) in a tiny mouthful of tart. The Elderflower soda was quite fragrant and not too sweet.

It was a nice place to chill out, in fact, we were so chilled out that we fell asleep…
