Sashimi Moraiwase

There was a new kid on the block and we decided that the other Japanese restaurant, Fukuyichi, was probably not going to close down anytime soon, since it had been around for quite some time already… So it was Kaiware for us!

We ordered a Tara Nabe (Chanko Nabe with Cod Fish $30), Sashimi Moraiwase (12-piece sashimi $30), Maguro Natto (because I couldn’t resist natto) ($10) and Fugumirin Boshi (BBQ pufferfish $16).

  • We were very impressed with the generous thick slices of sashimi, especially the salmon slices. Each slice was probably 2 to 3 times the size of the ones we usually get at those chain restaurants. Thick and fresh sashimi won our hearts 🙂
  • The sweet and salty pufferfish slices reminded us of Bak Kwa and the mayonnaise complemented it very well!
  • The chanko nabe was slightly small, but the cod slices were very fresh, and the soup was also deliciously sweet.
  • Of course, natto tasted good as always, but that was just my very own opinion. Hubby absolutely refused to try the goodness of it… Haha!

In all, a satisfying meal to end the day 🙂 The service was also pretty good, with the staff being rather attentive.

Note that there is a 10% service charge and 7% GST.
