After we fed the pelicans and toured the Chocolate Factory on Phillip Island, it’s time to find lunch!
A quick search on Google brought us to The Cape Kitchen and we gotta say, the ocean view from the restaurant was awesome!!
This is also a popular place for weddings and celebrations apparently because it offers breathtaking views of the Southern Ocean and coastline with a menu that is focussed on what is in-season as well as introducing unique Australian flavours.
Five of us shared the following:
- Fish & Potato Croquettes with chilli, parsley and garlic aioli (A$11): Slightly spicy, this was very flavourful. As usual, potato dishes here rocks!
- Otway Pork Belly, Thyme Pear, Parsnip & Cress (A$36): One of the few newer dishes with melt-in-your-mouth pork belly, we were very impressed with the plating too!
- Duck Breast with Tuscan Cabbage, Buckwheat & Beetroot Puree (A$37): Another flavourful and crispy meat dish that was done perfectly.
- Braised Goat Parpadelle with Ricotta, Currants, Sunflower (A$35): One of the specials for today, the pasta was not mushy and had a great al dente texture to it.
Overall food was pretty good, the service was impeccable, and the view just simply gorgeous!
