During our first visit to Melaka many years ago, we had tried dim sum at a famous restaurant, and had good memories about it. This time, we wanted to try another dim sum restaurant, and De Ocean Restaurant 大洋點心 had pretty good online reviews.
Since we were still quite full from breakfast, we had a scaled-down lunch.
The way dim sum was served here was that the staff would bring a tray of available dim sums for us to select. Erm… we gotta say, we were quite disappointed with the dim sum here 😦 The most unique one was the fried prawn dumpling, because the skin had banana flavours to it. Many times, we enjoyed the dim sum experience not because the dim sum was of very high quality, but because of the buzzing atmosphere. Alas, we did not experience this here as well.
Dim sum prices ranged from RM3.50, RM4, to RM5, and Pu-Er tea was RM1.60 per pax. We supposed it could be an option if you needed air-conditioning. Of note, if you do come here, maybe you would like to try the buns, which had pretty good online reviews. However, we were not really bun lovers and usually preferred to try other types of dim sum.
