We have heard so much about this ‘One Man’ that we must come! This is a specialty coffee concept store that that focuses on the art of the espresso and shares the space with Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar. It brews coffee and all-day breakfast until 5pm and hands the store over to Crust Pizza for them to serve up think-crust pizza. How cool is that?
On this lovely morning (that wifey was actually awake relatively early), we called up the cafe to enquire if we could reserve seats. Ah, no reservations allowed, but we were told that there were seats available in the cafe like NOW 🙂 So 30 minutes later, we found ourselves at the cafe, where the staff strength easily outnumbered the number of patrons 😮
It was around 10.30am when we settled down, and were the only other couple in this little cosy cafe. We ordered the Big Brekkie ($12) that came with two of their famous 6-minute eggs, honey ham, roasted cherry tomatoes, baby spinach with pesto, and grilled sourdough rye, as well as a French Toast Brioche ($10) with homemade berry compote, candied walnuts and fresh cream.
The French Toast was simply very, very out-of-the-world delicious!
The buttery brioche had a slight crumbly surface and was oh-so-soft and moist in the middle! We loved the walnuts! The slightly tart berry compote and fresh cream complemented the French Toast very well… It was a wonderful item to have for breakfast! 😀
The Big Brekkie was quite good too, and we especially enjoyed the roasted cherry tomatoes, but it was a real pity that the eggs were overcooked. It would have been perfect if we had gotten runny eggs instead.
The cafe latte was quite nice, but I still think the one at Yahava is the best 🙂
Wifey enjoyed her Pear-fect Oolong Tea (Allerines premium tea series), but was more intrigued by the very well-designed teapot. I could tell that she was very tempted to buy yet another teapot for the house…
