Having only just a coffee at Whale & Cloud is definitely not enough, so we venture on to find breakfast!
Carpenter and Cook (in Lorong Kilat) opened a new takeaway outlet in Jasmine Road and they named it Carpenter and Cook Jr. The website says no seating here, but there are still some counter seats inside and a couple of alfresco chairs if you want to just laze around and watch the world pass-by…
Besides selling freshly home-made baked goods and confectionery, they also sell curated vintage furniture, home decor, as well as provide dessert tables, styling services, vintage props and decor for weddings, parties, photo-shoots and more!
This interesting place was setup by 3 friends, a Carpenter (Phoebe who picks out beautiful vintage pieces), a Cook (Shenn who trained at the prestigious Cordon Bleu in London) and a And (Eunice who likes to dabble in a bit of everything). 🙂

Vintage stuff and deco for sale
What intrigue us when we first entered the takeaway cafe is the amount of vintage antiques that were displayed. Some of these we have seen when we were young, and some were even older than us!
There is a toy horse, and an ancient typewriter and lots of beautiful wedding deco and cutlery that you can buy for your own high-tea party at home.

Freshly baked
What impressed us next is the array of fresh-bakes.
You can either order it for takeaway or get it heated up to enjoy at the counter seats, or the alfresco ones just outside.

Tarts and cakes
Whole lot of variety here, with scones, croissants, muffins, quiches, danish, and all kinds of tarts and cakes for your savoury and sweet pursuits.

Quiche for breakfast
We ordered a couple of quiche and the usual latte and tea to wash it down. The quiche were yummy and soft; the filling was not too hard (until it became like cake) and the crust was crispy.
Such is enjoyment on a nice Saturday morning…
