Strangers’ Reunion @Duxton

Cafe Latte, as usual

Cafe Latte, as usual

Wifey was in town for meeting so we decided to look around SGH for dinner!

Met up with her at SGH and walked out towards Neil Road. Whip out my iPhone and Strangers’ Reunion jumped right out of FourSquare. This is a cafe which was opened quite a while ago when the cafe crave started in Singapore. Have seen many pictures, especially of their buttermilk waffles, all over Instagram but have yet to try. Since this was a quiet night, we could find seats and so we decided to have our dinner here!

The deco was quite a simple, industrial look, with exposed pipes and trunking. Quite a number of tables and seats around, and if you are only here for waffles, they have opened another outlet called Waffle Slayer just next door!

Truffle Fries

Wifey ordered Truffle Fries ($12.90), because everybody seemed to be ordering it. It was alright, but we weren’t very big fans of fries…

I ordered 36-hour Slow-Braised Lamb ($25.90) because I was still thinking about the lamb in Iceland…

Buttermilk Waffle

And the must-order when you are here is the Buttermilk Waffles (with Artisan Greek Yogurt and Fresh Fruits $12.90)!

The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and went extremely well with my Cafe Latte ($4.90). We loved the blend of strawberries with the waffle, but we hoped there’d be more strawberries! Haha…

Waffle Slayer next door has more ‘interesting’ offerings like Squid Ink Waffle, Red Velvet Waffle, Buttermilk Waffles with Chicken Schnitzel and Kaffir Lime Mayonnaise (wow!) etc., but that’s for next time… Oh and apparently you can order waffles from next door too, if you don’t really want to shift your bottom to next door. 🙂
