We were very excited to hear of a relatively new cafe opened in Ang Mo Kio, yeah! So today, we especially made reservations for dinner, after reading about the crowds in some reviews.

There were a grand total of 2 other people when we arrived :p But it was a weekday night, so perhaps that was the reason. It was good for us anyway, since we preferred a more quiet environment.

Deco was simple, but they have a small little children’s playground using the small slanted area beneath the staircase, which is complete with small kitchen so small kids can play act-kitchen while the adults indulge in the real food from the real kitchen. 🙂

We ordered a Minced Chicken Lasagne ($8.90, inclusive of 7% GST), Waffle with Salted Caramel Gelato ($7.50), Red Velvet Cake ($5.50) and a Flat White ($4.20).

The coffee was not bad, but not particularly strong. The lasagne took a while to arrive, and we were so hungry! Cheesy and piping hot, it was quite delicious. The waffle was crispy, but the batter might have too much of salt… The taste was quite strange. Luckily, the gelato was quite good, with bits of almond inside! We ended our meal with a rather dense and too chocolatey cake. The different layers of sponge had varying denseness. We wondered if that was how red velvet cake was supposed to be?

Feeling rather dissatisfied, we continued to the food centre nearby in search of some delicious fried hokkien mee…

Towards 9pm, more and more people started coming in! Wow, looks like this is a popular after-dinner place 🙂
