Yet another lazy Sunday afternoon for this unfortunate couple who had been taking turns falling sick throughout the Lunar New Year period, and we did not really feel like eating much today. Thus, pies became lunch!
Located at a quiet corner behind the main Upper Thomson road (behind UOB), we were first greeted by a X’mas tree outside, followed by a huge teddy bear!
Being a corner unit, an entire wall was turned into glass, which instantly brightens up the place and provided an extended view for customers as they sat and laze the afternoon away…
Most of the customers were doing take-aways. There was a huge variety of pies to choose from, with each slice ranging from $7 to $8. One could also get a pie and soda set for. $12.
We tried the Apple Rum Pie ($7.50) and Hazelnut Ginger Pie ($8) and loved the flavours! There was a generous amount of apple too 🙂 Hubby especially loved the peanut strips hidden within the hazelnut pie.
The smooth Flat White ($5) was strong and fragrant, and was a perfect complement to the pies. The sparkling Grapefruit and Chamomile Soda ($5.50, by The Tapping Tapir) was very refreshing and light. Water is also freely available at each table.
We enjoyed the relaxed feel of this place! Apparently this is where the main kitchen is, and the plan is to eventually find a central kitchen and to operate as kiosks… We gotta come back more often while it is still at this location 🙂
