Just across the road opposite the entrance to Longkang Siham, was this very empty satey celup place. Perhaps because it was away from the main tourist area, but we decided to give it a shot, as we were not feeling up to long queues tonight.
This place advertised itself as using Kangen water, which is alkaline water and supposedly have some health benefits. They also claimed that they make their soup bases from scratch, and did not recycle their soup base, which was definitely one up in the hygiene level. With dual soup base, this place also caters to kids and customers who do not take spicy or peanuts. There was a minimum order of 15 sticks, which amounted to RM15.
We were pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the seafood, especially the prawns and blood cockles! The meat items were less impressive. The satay soup base, while not the super thick type, was still pretty good and satisfying. The chicken soup base was not bad too.
They also sell freshly baked castella cakes here. Seemed like an odd combination for satay celup, but we did see quite a few customers buying take-aways.
