We thought to try a different pit stop while en-route to Malacca, and Yong Peng 永平 seemed like a good place for a quick rest. Also, we were intrigued by 永兴福州饼面厂 Eng Hin Kedai Membuat Kuih-Muih that was famous for hand-made noodles and Fuzhou biscuits 福州饼, also known as Kompyang.
While we decided against getting the fresh noodles that could only last 3 to 4 days, we bought some pre-packed ones which turned out yummylicious! Though the packaging said it was 福州麺線, it could be a generic packaging since we didn’t quite recognise it as the usual rice vermicelli.
We also hung around to wait for the different flavours of kompyang to be ready. We tried the salty version, the peanut version, and the oat ones with and without peanut fillings (prices ranged from RM0.80 to RM0.90). Hubby enjoyed the salty version the most 🙂
