Dr. K was going back to Melaka over the weekend and we decided to hitch a ride 🙂 Just like the previous trip, we thought to explore another city while en-route to Malacca.
We set off from Singapore on Saturday and visited Breakfast in Johor Bahru at 榕树下粿条仔 Restoran Rong Shu Xia first before having a pit stop at Yong Peng 永平 and visited 永兴福州饼面厂 Eng Hin Kedai Membuat Kuih-Muih and 元延原创永平正宗西刀鱼圓 Yuan Yean Fishball Eating House.
The rest of the day was spent at Melaka where we went to
- Locahouz
- Checked into Aava Malacca Hotel and had a quick dip in the pool
- Nancy’s Kitchen
- Masjid Selat Melaka (Melaka Straits Mosque)
- Capitol Seafood (Disappointing this time – see previous trip here)
- 九楼油条 Nine Floors Yu Cha Kuih (still as good as before – see previous trip here)
Sunday
- Light Breakfast at hotel
- Snacked at The Daily Fix
- More dipping in the pool before check-out
- Lunch at Manis J
This time, we stayed at Aava Malacca Hotel, and we really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel itself was gorgeous-looking, and the room was clean and not too small. It was a plus point that our room was very near the pool.
The pool was definitely cooling, which was perfect when we visited it during the afternoon when we were half-baked by the sun, and it was overlooking the river, which was really lovely.
The breakfast was simple but delicious, and I had fun making my own soft-boiled eggs with this cute gadget (which Dr K said she had it at home since a loooonnnngggg time ago :P) We had to practise some restraint because we wanted to check out a cafe before lunch 😛
