We were at Raffles City again and the queue at Nam Nam (a Vietnamese restaurant at the basement) was still crazy as ever even at 2pm! Can you believe it? It’s not like it’s THW or something…
We were rushing for time, so decided to go to the relatively empty 吃在台北 instead =p
For ~$30, we had…
卤肉饭 (Braised Minced Pork Rice): There was actually also 扣肉饭 (Braised Pork Belly Rice) but hubby decided to give the former a try. The rice was a bit too sticky, too much like Japanese rice. Otherwise, rather normal, with the meat a little on the tough side. The preserved vegetable however managed to help it save some grace as it added some crunch to the otherwise salty and plain dish.
大肠蚵仔面线 (Rice Vermicelli with Oysters): It was a huge bowl with a lot of mee sua which tasted more like bee hoon. Kinda odd that it tasted different from the usual Taiwanese mee sua that I have eaten in Singapore. Came with about 6 decent slices of intestines and 6 rather tiny oysters…
葱油饼 (Spring Onion Pancake): Tasted a lot like prata with a slight hint of onion… Hubby say we could probably find this in FairPrice… Haha!
Verdict? Shin Yeh nicer 😛
