Quote from the menu
We had initially intended to check out The Coffee Daily… But we walked past Sun Ray Cafe first and the very friendly host, plus the phrase “We roast our coffee” made us pause our steps and give its neighbour a skip 😛
This cafe occupies 2 shop houses and one shop house is specially catered for diners with pets! We saw a couple of diners came in with their dogs and both were happily having their meals together!
The other interesting thing is about the menu and we kept seeing “omakase”. So this is a good place for people who cannot make up their mind and are happy to have whatever the hosts decide to serve them. It reminded me of the time when I went to a bubble tea hut in Hong Kong and had 随便 (Anything), which basically meant that it was up to the staff to decide my drink!

Ice Latte for a hot day

Matcha Latte
We were happy to order our own – Iced Latte ($6) and Matcha Latte ($5). And I also bravely decided to try yet another Salted Caramel cake ($9). I opted for the dark chocolate version instead of the vanilla version. Rainbow cake was also served here, but we figured that we should try it at its neighbour the next time we come by this area 🙂
The matcha latte was quite good! Slightly bitter without being overly milky, I loved the flavour! The iced latte was quite aromatic and strong, without being overly acidic, so hubby was happy with his drink too! I guess freshly grounded coffee beans do make a difference!

Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake
The dark chocolate salted caramel cake was a much nicer version than the one I had at Burpz Cafe… The intense flavours were bursting on my taste buds! Yummy! But too intense, so we didn’t finish all the cream… Haha! The sponge cake itself was abit moist and dense, but I think it was quite delicious 🙂
It was fairly quiet on a Monday night, and we were seated at a corner, watching the cute dogs at the other end of the shop… They were all wagging their tails very happily and very busy walking around, kawaii ne! Since we were seated near the coffee machine, we also got to watch the barista in action, painstakingly making each drink one by one, with 100% concentration! This felt like a rather lovely place to chill out and we gotta come back to try the mains sometime soon!
