Hanging menus!
We actually wanted to visit Lola Cafe near Kovan but it was filled with people and we didn’t want to wait an hour for seats. So we took a bus back towards Serangoon to look for another nearby cafe and when we got off, I spotted this C.A.N (Christa & Naomi) cafe that I recalled G recommending to me! Without hesitation, we walked straight into it.. Haha!
The very first thing that caught our attention was the very retro decorations! From old-fashioned ice-kacang (dessert made of shaved ice) machine and typewriters to license plates and street name signage, plus the cosy-looking seats, this looked like to great place to hang out!
Unfortunately, there were some minor renovation works on-going, so we were asked to sit at the front while they clear the mess at the back, so it was the comfy sofa with rather glaring sunlight for us.
The menu was in the form of a clapperboard and the items handwritten… I especially liked the milkshake page!

Iced Latte
It was Iced Latte for hubby, No Worries (herbal) Tea for me, and with a Lemon Meringue Tart to share ($19.70 in total), plus free magazines to read and lovely accompanying music, we were ready to chill out here for the remaining afternoon 🙂
G mentioned that the food here was good, but alas, we were too full to try the mains.

Lemon Meringue Tart
Hubby felt that his coffee was “not bad”, while my tea indeed had a calming effect to make me have no worries :-). The lemon tart was very lemony! Really woke us up… Haha!
Hubby had a chat with the owner and found out that all the decorations were actually collected by him over the years! Wow, we were impressed by his huge collections! Apparently, so were the rest, as we chanced upon a couple who came in with a request to have their wedding photo shoot here 😉
