Simple pleasures
We had a late start this morning and decided we must go to Burger & Lobster for lunch!
Well, you see, everyone who has gone to London (and back) says this is a must-go restaurant whenever you are in London (together with Duck & Waffle and Patty & Bun)! The food menu is very simple, there are only 3 items. In fact, there isn’t a menu! The waitress simply come by your table and explain the very simple 3 items to the table. For £20, you could order:
- a Whole Lobster (steamed or grilled),
- a Lobster Roll, or
- a Beef Burger
Ah, £20 for a burger? No thanks 😛
We found out that the restaurant does not accept reservations and it opens at 12pm, and we were quite mentally prepared for a long queue outside the restaurant. We arrived at 12.01pm and it was empty! As we would later find out, it seemed like Londoners do late lunches. Lucky us!

Lobster Roll
Happily, the girls had a lobster roll and iced earl grey tea with watermelon and cucumber (£4.50) each, while hubby decided on a steamed whole lobster. We will each given an apron in case we messed up while eating… Haha! Actually they usually offer the apron to those eating the whole lobster, but I guess we were either too touristy or too cute that the waitress decided that we should have it too! Yippee!

Steamed Whole Lobster
The lobsters here were really good!
For the lobster roll, there were huge chunks of meat and it went very well with the brioche bread, while the whole lobster was really huge and juicy! There were a few times where we had to duck while hubby tried to crack open the lobster but all was well!
The tea was refreshingly delightful as I felt that the bread was a bit too buttery as it grew cold. Gotta eat the food fast! But as you probably know already, we had to take some photos before eating… Haha!

Look at the claw!

Can’t take the roll in one bite!
We were done by about 1pm, and the entire place was filled with (hungry) people… Some had to wait at the bar for their table (we also found out that that’s the usual procedure at most British restaurants). So it would be best to go early!
Note: Additional service charge is included in the bill.
