We took our time in the morning and had a late breakfast at the hotel.
After that, a slow stroll brought us to St Paul’s Hill, and A’ Famosa Fort.
We continued to stroll to the famous landmark of Melaka, Christ Church Melaka before making our way back for lunch at Restoran Nyonya Makko!
We had heard good reviews of Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine which is just behind Hatten Hotel but we were not able to get reservations (it’s very very popular!). So we settled for Makko which is also near the hotel and we had been here 5 years ago.
We ordered quite a few Peranakan favourites like Ayam Ponteh, Ayam Buah Leluak, and of course top it off with another Chendol! The chendol here was much better than Jonker 88!
It was back to hotel to rest after lunch, and we sneaked out to get some Milli Crepe from Nadeje Cafe, and coffee from Caffè bene Melaka for tea break. This is the original Milli Crepe that we had 5 years ago when hubby’s colleague (who was from Melaka) introduced to us when we visited Melaka then. We couldn’t find the same shop that we went to but found the branch at Makota Parade. Too bad there was no seats available (it’s madly popular here!) so we had to tabao back to hotel. There are many more flavours now but we still love the original. 🙂
It was an early dinner and slow walk to McQuek’s Satay Steamboat for dinner. (We had intended to go to Restoran Capitol Satay but after reading the horrible queues and long wait, we decided to try somewhere else and found this through a friend, and it’s quite near to our hotel).
The items were skewered with coloured satay sticks, ranging from the cheapest non-coloured sticks at RM0.80 each, red sticks at RM1.00 each, green sticks at RM1.50, and blue sticks at RM2.50. Our drinks of mineral waterm Loh Han Guo Longan tea, and iced lemon tea cost RM1.50 to RM2.00 each. Prices were inclusive of 6% GST. In total, we spent RM67.80, with 31 normal sticks, 19 red sticks, 9 green sticks and 2 blue sticks. Not bad for 4 persons 😀
After dinner, it was souvenir shopping at the malls, and back to hotel for an early rest, though we sneaked out again for late night drinks at Coffeevine on the lobby of Hatten Hotel. 🙂
