PeraMakan @Keppel Club

2016-09-05-12-49-45Keppel Club certainly brought back much memories for us 🙂

From VivoCity, we took a 30-minute stroll into Keppel Club… It was a fairly long walk in!

Since we had already tried Peony Jade a couple of times before, we wanted to check out PeraMakan this time.

Being a Monday, it was a really quiet day, and we had seats by the windows.

We enjoyed each dish, and like that the flavours were very balanced, without being overly spicy or sweet. We also liked the crackers that was served as appetiser.

  • Beef Rendang ($20 nett): Tender shin beef braised in spicy coconut sauce, this was the best dish of our meal. The beef was really tender and flavourful.
  • Ayam Buah Keluak ($18): Chicken braised in rich Indonesian black nut and Garam Assam gravy. The buah keluak was not overly salty and went very well with the rice.
  • Sambal Bendi Goreng ($12): I like the slightly crunchy lady fingers, while hubby preferred it to be more tender. The dried shrimp sambal was awesome without being overly spicy.
  • Durian Chendol ($6.50): Shaved ice with slurpy chendol strips, kidney beans, gula melaka syrup & freshly squeezed coconut milk, with a large dollop of home-made durian puree, this was a lovely way to end the meal with the sweet and fragrant dessert. The durian puree was not bad.

Overall, a lovely meal, but a pity that this place is fairly inaccessible by public transport.
