석촌호수 벚꽃축제 Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival 石村湖櫻花節 @Seoul, South Korea

We wanted a relaxing day today, and it seemed like a good day for some cherry blossom viewing.

We searched online and saw that the cherry blossoms were blooming well at 석촌호수 벚꽃축제 Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival 石村湖櫻花節, and decided to pop over.

With Seokchon Lake and the castle of the amusement park, Lotte World, as the backdrop, there was definitely a romantic feel in the air 🙂

It was also rather crowded with everyone trying to take pictures of the lovely cherry blossom trees in its full glory. We just took our time to take pictures and to stroll along the path in the park, which was lined with cherry blossom trees with pale pink flowers.

There were also performances held, and there was a popular boy band performing while we were there, judging from the screaming and all the girls running after their idols when they departed after their performance. There were also stalls set up for games, and selling of snacks and local products.

As we continued strolling, we noticed lanterns and colourful umbrellas, and figured that there might be lights-up in the evening. Hence, we decided to take a break at the nearby A Twosome Place, while we waited for sunset.

It was worth the wait, as the lights came on 🙂 The castle and bridge were lit up as well, and it was a completely different feeling seeing the cherry blossoms at night!
