[UPDATE: Batterworks has ceased operation at Everton Park wef 18 Oct 2015]
Super loooong weekend is here, and we went on a staycation in our sunny island amidst all the haze!
This was our first stop of the day and we were the first customers at Batterworks! We started our day with:
- Pulled Pork Wrap ($5 nett): This had a very homely feel to it, and there was a good balance of the BBQ sauce, pulled pork and vegetables. Something that we could do at home.
- Nordic Style Waffle ($14): The waffle was huge and soft! The rather sauteed mushrooms went very well with the waffle, but not smoked salmon. It felt more like Chinese (oyster sauce) meets Nordic (smoked salmon). The salad provided a refreshing lift to the dish.
- Mini Tarts (2 for $3): We tried the Apple Crumble mini tart and Blueberry Oreo cheesecake. Both were yummy! The mini tart pastry had a bit of crunch without being too hard, and the insides was moist and sweet. Good for 2 of us to share, since we do not have particularly sweet tooth, but there was a bigger version as well. The cheesecake was rather dense, but we enjoyed the taste of it… The blueberry flavour was not too distinctive though.
It was quite a lovely place to hang out, with many magazines and books for browsing. The downside was that the air-conditioning unit nearest to us was not switched on, so it was a little stuffy after a while.
