There was so much to do in Miyazaki, but we still managed to visit 4 cafes for food and drinks 😛
In general, the cafes were quite busy for a relatively quiet and chillax city, but we did not have to queue for seats.
カフェ ピット Cafe PIT
We had intended to visit Always Cafe after we checked-in to our hotel in Miyazaki on the first day, but it was not opened.
So we strolled round the vicinity of Always Cafe and saw カフェピット Cafe PIT.
This is a cozy cafe at the fringe of 宮崎市中央公園 Miyazaki City Central Park established since 2002.
It appeared the signature dessert is Mille Crepe so we ordered one to share, and hubby had his usual Flat White while I had a tea.
The mille crepe was quite nicely done and the flat white was ‘ok’ according to hubby. We would have enjoyed more if not for the very noisy ‘conference’ that was going on at the table beside us. Sheesh…

九州パンケーキ Kyushu Pancake
We had enjoyed 九州パンケーキ Kyushu Pancake in Singapore, and were happy to discover the pancakes originated from 宮崎 Miyazaki. Off to the very original store we went,
We shared a アップル ナモン フレンチトース Apple Cinnamon French Toast (¥780), and クロック マダム Croque Madame Pancakes (¥880).
Hmm, there was some differences from the ones we tried in Singapore. Food was not bad, but we would have preferred the French Toast to be warmer.
For each main, we could top up an additional ¥200 for drinks, with option of specialty coffee, latte, tea, orange juice, grapefruit juice, or apple juice, giving it a 50% discount off the drinks. As usual, we went for latte and tea 🙂
We had a comfortable sofa seat and had a good recharge, before deciding to pack in more sightseeing 😀

コアンドカフェ COiN de Cafe
We were exploring the areas near our hotel, and the cute owl designs of this cafe caught our attention. This was a cosy little cafe, and interestingly, the cost of coffee was dependent on the weather during summer 😛 Depending on whether the weather forecast indicate the temperature of the day to be above 25, 30, 35, or 40 degrees Celcius, your cup of coffee would cost ¥250, ¥200, ¥150, or ¥80 respectively. We supposed there would be a similar promotion come winter, with lowering temperatures 😛

There were 4 morning breakfast sets available, and we opted for the ピザトース with サラダ Pizza Toast with Salad (¥150). For drinks, we had COiN プレンド COiN Blend (¥350, alas, it was rainy and cooling while we were here :P), and some refreshing freshly-squeezed ミカン ジュース Mikan Juice (¥400).
Hmm, actually the Pizza Toast was simply some toppings on toast, haha 😛 It was not bad. Drinks were pretty decent too, and I enjoyed the mild tangy flavour of the Mikan Juice.

オールウェイズカフェ Always Cafe
We had intended to visit this cafe on our first day in Miyazaki, but unfortunately, it had closed early that day. Nonetheless, we decided to check it out again, for it was supposed to be famous for pancakes 😀
We got ourselves the Original Flavour Pancake (2 pieces of pancakes for ¥1,100 vs ¥800 for a single piece) and topped up ¥200 for the drink set, and chose チャイラテ Chai Latte (ala-carte price ¥400). Hubby got a カフェオレ Cafe Au Lait (¥400).
The drinks were pretty alright, but ooooh, the pancakes were fluffy and cheesy, and were indeed yummylicious 😀
The cafe serves Hawaiian cuisine, and the decorations definitely seem to imply so, with a section next to the walls painted ocean blue and tables resembling windsurfing boards. The cafe was quite well-lit and felt welcoming, and we had an enjoyable time just chilling out 🙂
