We walked past this cafe when we were heading our way to a nice Korean restaurant in Goldhill Centre, and took noticed because this used to be a not-nice BKT restaurant (and we were glad it closed). Little did we realized that day was actually the first day it opened this 3rd outlet (the other 2 were in Siglap V and Eastwood)!
So we made a note to come by to try it out. Which we did on a nice Wednesday (maybe it’s Tuesday, but that’s not the point) evening, only to realize its kitchen closes early on weekdays at 8pm.
We finally made it here on Friday before its kitchen closed, but alas, we were still too late because they had ran out of waffles 😦
Ms K had a craving for non-BBQ Korean cuisine, and Your Woul seemed to have pretty good reviews. Judging from the fact that it has been operating for quite a while at this location, we decided to give it a try!
The restaurant was opened by a Korean family and has a typical Korean local atmosphere surrounding it, with Korean aunties shouting in Korean and patrons chatting loudly with occasional drinking glass knocking. What we like most about Korean restaurants is definitely the small plates of appetizers that are served before and during the meal. Some restaurants offer free-flow of appetizers but in Your Woul, it’s just two rounds of 6 different titbits.
We are not clueless!
We had thought about coming here for quite a while (it opened in Feb 2015), but somehow, we were always distracted by other food options in the area, and also a bit apprehensive if a cafe who calls itself clueless, has any clue about making good food and drinks? But here we were today!
This is a simple setup much like other cafes, with simple tables and chairs, ordering and payment at the counter, eat and go type of cafe. The interior is brightly lit and roomy enough to not give a ‘pressurizing’ feel. Overall a very homely feel and we enjoyed the ambience very much.
Our first thoughts were that the prices were very reasonable in this location, and there was no GST or service charge. Small wonder that it was fully packed!
