I have been wanting to check out this restaurant, after reading about it in the guidebook, and it was just around the corner of our hotel!
According to the guidebook, the owner of 해동해물탕 Haedong Haemultang 海東海鮮鍋 goes to 자갈치시장 Jagalchi Market 札嘎其市場 every morning to select the freshest seafood for the day, and the prices here are very reasonable.
So after a tiring day at walking around Busan, we decided that a hot steaming seafood pot for dinner it shall be!
The menu came with Chinese, English and Japanese translation, so I guess this must be a popular place with tourists too.
We shared a medium size 해물탕 (Haemultang) Spicy Seafood Stew 海鮮鍋 (₩27,000), 해물파전 (Haemul Pajeon) Green Onion and Seafood Pancake 海鮮葱煎餅 (₩20,000), and 전복죽 (Jeonbokjuk) Abalone Porridge 鮑魚粥 (₩10,000).

Our absolute favourite was the spicy seafood stew! It was bubbling with so much fresh seafood, and the soup was oh-so-heavenly! The staff helped us cook the seafood, and all we had to do was to attack when she was done 😀 I’m always a happy girl when there is yummy soup 🙂
The crispy seafood pancake was also awesome and filled with ingredients, and hubby is a happy man when his favourite seafood pancake dish turns out to be fabulous 😛
Sadly, the abalone porridge was a little on the bland side. Ms. V and Ms. W said that they had better ones during their previous trip. Oh well. At least majority of our choices turned out well 🙂 Along with the 6 refillable side dishes, we had a delicious and filling dinner 🙂
