No trip to Taiwan would be complete without a visit to one of the night markets every night, at least, according to hubby 😛
Since we were at 九份 Jiufen earlier in the day, 基隆 Keelung was the most logical option for this evening. Mr J happened to be in Taipei during this period of time, so we decided to meet up at this night market.
First on the list was 王記天婦羅 Wang’s Tempura (Stall 16). Despite the name, the Taiwanese version of “tempura” is more of fish cake / oden style. One of hubby’s favourite kind of food, so we got ourselves a portion (NT35).
Next up was 天一香滷肉飯 Tian Yi Xiang Braised Pork Rice (Stall 31). Another of hubby’s favourite food, we opted for the 滷肉飯 Braised Pork Rice (NT20) and 油豆腐 Tofu (NT10).
Then we chanced upon this stall selling 石板烤肉 Hot Plate Grilled Meat, and we could not resist getting a portion of the meat (NT100) for it was really very aromatic! Unfortunately, it did not taste as good as it smell 😛
We also tried the 紀家豬腳原汁專家 Ji’s Pig Trotters. The pig trotters came in 3 sizes (NT200 / NT350 / NT500).
Our last stop was 吳記螃蟹羹 Wu’s Crab Soup, where we ordered the 螃蟹羹 Crab Soup (NT55) and 油飯 Sticky Rice (NT30).
Overall, the food here was pretty decent 🙂
