Working late today so we ended up at Upper Thomson area again… This time, we decided to try Cafe Etc because of its late closing time!

Omakase Dinner @A secret restaurant
So we were trying so hard to get seats at Teppei that we gave up. Then came G’s friend, JY, who happened to know a chef in a Japanese restaurant, and she had seats for Omakase dinner! She very generously offered to bring us along and we were so excited (even though it’s not Teppei, haha…)!
Little Hiro (previously known as Burger Shack) @King’s Arcade
Here for dinner after a stroll from office… I wanted to jog, but old le… 😦
We walked from Botanic Garden MRT along Bukit Timah Road and passed by our usual hunt in Cluny Court, and then a changed in sign made us looked up. This used to be Burger Shack, but has now revamped itself into Little Hiro, a Hawaiian-Japanese BBQ & Grill eatery. The owner is the son of the owner of Island Creamery, and Little Hiro was the result of his creative juices after attending a wedding in Hawaii which ended with a Hawaiian-style BBQ. Little Hiro is a tribute to the groom’s father and chef at the BBQ (whose name is Hiro).
Huay Kwang Thai @Upper Thomson

Moo Ka Ta
It seems that Moo Ka Ta is the current food darling of everyone!
We tried coming here without reservations previously and were told in a rather matter-of-fact manner that the place is usually almost full with reservations. So we got a name card and I very cleverly SMS for reservations close to 6pm today. And there were still seats available for 7.30pm! Good thing that I made reservations; there was only 1 table left for walk-in when I arrived at around 7pm 😮
Auntie Kim’s Korean Restaurant @Upper Thomson

Seafood pancake
I was craving for some Korean pancakes so it was a choice between Parker or Auntie Kim’s. Decided on Auntie because Parker is better for BBQ but Auntie is more well-rounded… Lol! Unfortunately, food standards seemed to have dropped as compared to our previous visit 😦
Auntie Kim’s is along the same stretch of shophouses with UOB, Kampung Chicken, Dino’s, a Japanese restaurant and Ritz Apple Strudel. The restaurant was brightly-lit and there are some al-fresco seats if you prefer to stay outdoors. Deco was quite pleasant and you feel welcomed when you step into the restaurant.
The seafood pancake came really fast after we ordered our dinner! It was quite yummy but we hardly saw any seafood… but there was only one type of pancakes available, so we were pretty sure it was supposed to be seafood pancake… haha! Continue reading
Cucina @Holland Village
I think we are running out of food options at Holland Village! Despite us attempting to eat healthier because we were nursing not-so-good tummies from last night’s dinner, we ended up at Cucina Authentic Italian Restaurant for pasta…. Because we have tried almost all other food options along this stretch :p
This address seems to be for Amici Italian Restaurant, and hubby did saw the word ‘AMICI’ on the chef’s apron. Whatever it is, the place looks cosy enough with soft lighting and an earthly feel with rough bricks lining the wall. Not too many seats but comfortable enough to let guests mingle around. The kitchen has a glass window and we can see the chefs preparing the food from our seats.
Bhutan Day 4 – Punakha to Bumthang
[Here is the photostream of Bhutan 2013 Day 4, for those who prefer pictures to tell a story. 🙂]
Breakfast was the usual museli and toast, with bananas by the side. We could choose how we wanted our eggs done, and the cheese and mushroom omelette that we ordered was very delicious! We had some time after breakfast, so we went around to take some pictures. There was actually a pretty good view of the valley.

Ambush @Junction 8

Kenna ambushed!
Off days meant waking up late and lazing around, and going for a good lunch!
Went to Junction 8 for lunch on this beautiful off day, and Ambush has seats so here I am. This is a Fast Casual European Dining outlet (as stated on its website) and we came here a few times before, always wanting to try its pork knuckles but always sold out. 😦
The ambience is casual and they serve very decent European food which includes pastas, paellas, sausages, poultry and seafood! What’s interesting is that their menu is formatted like a newspaper so reading the menu feels like reading a newspaper!
Barossa @Holland Village
We were hunting for food at Holland Village when we spotted One-for-One Australian Beef Buffet (usual price $43.90++) that was available every Wednesday and Saturday. We had to show the waitress that we had “Liked” their Facebook page before we could start the dinner. There was a time limit of 90 min, but we only had 60 min, since the buffet ends at 10pm… yeah, it was a super late dinner for us!
We liked that there was live music indoors, but that meant that we had to sit outdoors because it was too noisy indoors. Luckily, it was quite a cooling night, so it was pretty relaxing to chill outdoors with live music in the background, and we could still engage in a decent conversation.
MOA Brewing Company New Zealand Bar and Grill @Changi City Point

Relax feel
(This post in re-written in absolute frustration at stupid WordPress app which seemed to kill off my every other post despite multiple saving. So names may not be correct since it has been a while since I ate the food… Not too sure how long I can live with it…!!)
This is probably a pretty nice place to chill out, with the darts machine in one corner and 1 huge screen for soccer fans indoors. There was supposed to be live music outdoors, but we didn’t stay late enough to hear it.
